Environmental Psychology . . .
. . . is an applied science, a sleeves up, hands-on, feet to the street science. A relatively young interdisciplinary field of enquiry, environmental psychology appears to attract thoughtful people who much like others in the social sciences are deeply concerned with building a body of knowledge and understanding about who we are as a species so we can make better informed decisions.
Throughout human history specialized terms and languages have been just as likely to be the tools for achieving and maintaining class privilege as much as they were to be known as a means for facilitating social and intellectual enlightenment and freedom.
HiddenCity is concerned with the formation and growth of those infrastructural technologies, processes and systems upon which our lives depend and that objectively affect and sustain our "Quality of Life".
HiddenCity seeks the creation of a grassroots movement formed by persons who chose to view this world from within an environmental context. To come together in community to form a body of knowledge and best practices accessible to anyone that has the desire to learn and grow.
Teams of citizen activists, amateur and professional scientists will come together to study, listen, learn about communities within an environmental context.
HiddenCity will work with other social scientific and environmental organizations to bring the precision and clarity of our scientific language of art into the practical realm that the majority of men, women and children live out their lives. Let inclusion, reason and objectivity characterize our search for practical knowledge.
Let our mission lead us always to real-world solutions to real-world problems in living.
"You never change something by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
~ R. Buckminster Fuller
